In July 2022, KulaDAO, a decentralized autonomous organization aiming to foster community-led projects and initiatives, partnered with WillowCress, a digital marketing agency specializing in social media, SEO, and graphic design. KulaDAO sought to improve its online presence and brand recognition, ultimately aiming to secure substantial startup funding to grow its platform and expand its reach. Throughout their collaboration, WillowCress played a pivotal role in not only enhancing KulaDAO’s visibility but also contributing to the marketing that the KulaDAO team used to complete an impressive $7 million capital raise.
Challenges
WillowCress implemented a multi-pronged digital marketing strategy to tackle these challenges and position KulaDAO for growth:
1. Consistent Social Media Posting: WillowCress focused on establishing KulaDAO’s presence on social media platforms by creating and scheduling regular posts. Their approach combined informative content about the mission of KulaDAO with engaging visuals and storytelling that appealed to a wide audience. WillowCress ensured KulaDAO posted consistently, building a steady stream of content that aligned with their brand values and narrative.
2. Growth in Followers: One of the key performance indicators for WillowCress was to grow KulaDAO’s social media following. On Instagram, they took the platform from a modest 50 followers to a community of 2,500, while on LinkedIn, they expanded KulaDAO’s presence from 50 to over 1,000 followers. Targeted content and follower engagement strategies, including hashtag optimization, and community management drove this growth.
3. High-Impact Video Creation: Recognizing the power of video content in digital marketing, WillowCress created numerous videos that captured the attention of KulaDAO’s target audience. These videos, showcasing KulaDAO’s vision, goals, and team, were shared across social platforms and received tens of thousands of views. These high-performing videos were instrumental in raising awareness and driving further engagement across platforms.
4. SEO Optimization: To improve KulaDAO’s discoverability on search engines, WillowCress refined its SEO strategy. This involved researching and targeting relevant keywords, optimizing web content, and building high-quality backlinks. As a result, KulaDAO experienced improved rankings for key search terms related to decentralized finance and community-led projects, driving more organic traffic to their website.
Perhaps most impressively, the KulaDAO team has raised $7 million in startup capital. Our work to enhance brand visibility online including a more engaged online community lended a contribution to this milestone but it was the KulaDAO team that really made it happen.
